Video Podcast: Brews N Views Episode 11

I was recently a guest on Brews n’ Views. Hosting me were Eric Bennett, Paul Bowman, James Rodewald, Sarah Marino, and Michael Bollino. We chatted for close to 4 hours! There were some shenanigans, as to be expected - but also plenty of excellent conversation about the creative process, as well as great images featured from eight other photographers. Check it out if you have lots of time on your hands, or if you don’t mind listening to us talk while you do something else!

Interview: Nature Vision Magazine Fall 2023

I was recently interviewed by NPN’s Cody Schultz for the second issue of their excellent quarterly magazine, Nature Vision. I was very impressed with the quality of the questions, and you may find some things in my answers that you haven’t read anywhere else! Check it out here.

Natuurfotografie Magazine Cover + Feature

I was very pleased with the quality of this issue of the Dutch Natuurfotografie magazine, which has my image on the cover and a feature about me within. I don't understand a word aside from my name and "nature" and "photography", but it looks and feels very nice!

Outdoor Photographer Cover + Winter Article

My image “Tranquility” was chosen for the December 2022 cover of Outdoor Photographer magazine, and an article about the practical and inspirational qualities of landscape photography in winter was commissioned for the same issue. Outdoor Photographer has a storied history and was one of the last big printed photography publications remaining, so at the time of publishing I was honored to contribute. RIP, Outdoor Photographer.

You may view the entirety of my content for the magazine below.

"Voice of the Eyes" Book Now Available for Preorder

I’m honored to have been included alongside such a wonderful list of photographers in a new book curated by René Algesheimer. It’s 520 pages and features 125 photographs across 30 interviews - meaning it’s chock-full of written creative insights from some of the best nature photographers out there (and also me for some reason). Check it out here!

Critique Guest at Nature Photographers Network

This week, through noon Pacific Time on July 16, I am hosting a critique event at Nature Photographers Network. NPN is an incredible community of like-minded nature photographers where you can get honest, yet kind feedback on your images from other members, along with special guest professional photographers like myself. Critiques are one of the many benefits of membership along with articles, AMAs, webinars, and more.

I get a lot of requests to do critiques, and this is a prime opportunity for me to help you improve your images at a very affordable cost. In fact, posting my images for critique (and reading others’ critiques) on NPN was one of the first ways I began improving my own photography over a decade ago!

You can have your images critiqued by me starting today by joining NPN - a one year membership is less than $45 if you use my 10% off discount code, NORIEGA10.

Once you have signed up you can post your image for critique. The theme this week is Intimate Landscapes. I look forward to seeing your images and providing feedback!

You can read the critiques here.

NLPA USA 2022 Critique

I recently hosted a live critique session for a few volunteer entrants of the first annual Natural Landscape Photography Awards, along with two of the founders, Matt Payne and Rajesh Jyothiswaran. It is now posted on YouTube, so you can view the recording at your convenience! Check it out here.

Podcast: F-Stop Collaborate and Listen NFT Panel

I recently took part in a panel discussion on Matt Payne’s podcast, F-Stop Collaborate and Listen, along with Alex Nail and Brynn Schmidt. We tackled the controversial topic of NFTs, and I think we had a very civilized and rational discussion! You can give episode #227 a listen here.

Featured in Elements Photography Magazine

I’m honored to have been featured in the August 2021 issue of Elements Magazine. Elements is carefully curated and features some of my absolute favorite artists—among the best in the world, in my opinion. Needless to say, I’m humbled by the very kind things they wrote about me and my work! This is one of the few photography magazine subscriptions I can highly recommend to anyone looking for inspiration.

Natural Landscape Photography Awards

I’m honored to be judging the Natural Landscape Photography Awards alongside a panel of some of the best landscape photographers in the world.

This is the inaugural year of the competition, and I’m excited because I know we will be elevating great photography by placing a high value on taste and originality.

The prize pool is substantial and the entry fees are very reasonable, so no matter where you believe you are with your work, it’s worth a shot!

Use the code NORIEGA15 to save 15% on your entry.

Fall 2020 Newsletter
